Salt

Salt develops, inspires, and provides leadership for our campus ministry and school community.

Micah 6:8

Micah 6:8 is an effort, both locally and internationally, to bring about justice in unjust situations.

Pro-Life

Pro-Life is a ministry that promotes human life no matter how broken, unformed, disabled, or desperate that life may seem.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

FCA presents, to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the Church.

Light

Light is our team that creates and facilitated retreats for St. Thomas Aquinas and other schools in the community.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)

SADD provides students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving and other destructive decisions.

Liturgy

Liturgy creates engaging and inspiring liturgical experiences for St. Thomas Aquinas community.

Veritas

Veritas promotes the four pillars of our Dominican School - community, prayer, study, and service.
Service Opportunities

Alumni Crawfish Boil - The STA Alumni association will be hosting their annual crawfish boil this Saturday May 11th from 1:30 pm until around 6:00pm here on campus and they need lots of help.   They will have inflatable bounce houses set up in the gym and need students to help supervise the kids during the event.  They will also need a clean up crew to help put things back in order.  If you would like to help, please click the link to sign up on the form.  Since this event occurs after the service hour deadline, you can apply your hours to this year with a late penalty or towards your hours for next year.  Please come help if you can and support the alumni association! 

 

Baby Sitting for St. Albert's series on the Theology of the BodyThis spring St. Albert's is hosting a deanery-wide series on the Theology of the Body from 7:00 until 8:30 on the following evenings:  April 12,19, 23, & 30, and May 7 & 14.  Each night the service would be rendered from 6:45 PM to 8:45 PM – 2 hours per night. We will need 4 students each night to help out.  If you are interested in helping, please sign up at the above link.  You can sign up for more than one night if you wish. Tangi Food Pantry.  Volunteers are needed every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 until 4:00pm to help.  You can come directly after school if you wish to help and all during the summer.  The Food Pantry is located in the Winn Dixie shopping center on Thomas Street in the corner by Anna's Linens.  Call 985-429-8551 for more information or see Ms. Janet Bornkessell at the Food Pantry. 

 

 

Students interesting in volunteering at the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center in Downtown Hammond should contact the center at 985-340-9150.  To learn more about the center visit their website here at http://www.lcdcofhammond.org/

 

Southeast Advocates for Family Empowerment (SAFE).  SAFE is a domestic violence agency that services Tangipahoa Parish.  They are looking for some STA students to to assist them with clerical and promotional jobs around their office.  Their office is just down the street from Campus.  They need between 1-5 hours of volunteer help each week.  If you are interested in helping, please contact the Community Liaison for SAFE, Ms. Markeshia Desselles. 985-542-8384. 

 

Tangi Trash Bash (no sign up, please contact Ms. Guidry directly if you are interested)     The <st1:st1:street w:st="on"><st1:st1:address w:st="on">Whiskey Lane and Tin Can Alley community is trying to combat a huge litter problem and will host a community trash pickup day on the 1st Saturday of each month. Any number of students can pitch in. Trash bags, pickup sticks, and gloves will be provided. Students who are interested in helping out or would like more information should contact Ms. Shannon Guidry at 985-687-7645.
