St. Thomas Aquinas High School

National Honor Society
National Honor Society recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 94% and an exemplary discipline record are invited to join. Members are involved in various school and community service projects.

National Beta Club
The purpose of the National Beta Club is to promote the ideas of character, service, and leadership among secondary students; to reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school. Beta is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors with cumulative GPAs of 89% or higher and who have exemplary discipline records.

Key Club
Key Club is a service club that is open to all students. Key Club International promotes community service, leadership development and fellowship. Members work under the sponsorship of the local Kiwanis Club to provide service to the school and the community.

Equestrian Club
The Eqestrian Club is open to all students who have an interest in horses. Members may choose to participate in the sport of Dressage by showing in local shows. Members do not have to own a horse to participate.

Foreign Language Club
The Foreign Language Club is open to students in foreign language classes. The organization holds scheduled meetings and sponsors activites throughout the year.

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
SADD is open to all students who are commited to raising awareness of the danges of using alcohol and other drugs and who are working to eliminate their use.

Abstinence Club
The Abstinence Club is open to all students. The purpose of the club is for members to maintain an abstinent lifestile until marriage and encourage others to do the same.

Art Club
The Art Club is open to all stuents. The Art Club is involved in many school and community service activites. Its members design and paint the back drops for all school dances. They do service projects at the Columbia Theatre, North Oaks Hospital, and Belle Maison Nursing Home. Activites include face painting, gardening, window painting, and art auctions.

Band
Band is open to all students with a talent for playing a musical instrument or singing. Rehearsals are scheduled before or after school.

Drama Club
The Drama Club is open to alls tudents who have an interest in drama/theatre. There is an annual fee. Normally there are two productions, one in the fall and one in the spring.

STA Student Ambassadors
The Students Ambassador organization is a student service and public relations group working directly with the Development Director. There is a process in place in selecting Ambassadors. The Ambassadors represent Saint Thomas Aquinas at important public relations functions on and off campus.

Student Council
The Student Council is composed of an executive committee of officers and all elected representatives from each grade level. They are the liaison between the school administration and faculty to further enrich school life and by helping to plan and direct social activities.
