Beta Club shines at District Day

Forty-one members of the STA Beta Club recently participated in the Beta District IX District Day at Southeastern's University Center. More than 20 schools from Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, and Washington Parishes competed in academic, musical and artistic competitions. STA's members did very well in many of the competitions:

-- 1st Place, T-Shirt Design, Designed by Sean Adams, Presented by Julie Gaudin
-- 2nd Place, Poster Design, Molly Willis, Meg Gambel, Taylor Kast
-- 2nd Place, Oratory Competition, Bret Wagner
-- 2nd Place, Group Talent Competition, "Beta Fish," an STA-created band of Beta Club Members including Christopher Hudspeth, Summer Naquin, Rus Chaisson, Thomas Misuraca, Joey Giovotella, Dominic Giovotella, John Rhoner, Devin Baize, Adam DiBenedetto, Sadie Daugeraux and Bobbi Amar
-- 3rd Place, Scrapbook Competition, Rudi Darouse, Grace Amar, Victoria Burke, Lindsey Cordoba, Alexis Spring
-- Quiz Bowl Team, Made it to Semifinal Round against Northshore High School
-- Clay Parker, voted the 2012-2013 District IX Governor, the Highest honor a Beta in the District can earn

The Beta Club is making plans to once again attend the Beta State Convention in Lafayette January 17-18, 2013. Sponsor is Alicia Oalmann and Co-Sponsor is Katie Brooks.
