STA senior Ricky Henry has signed a commitment letter to play football at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Ricky received a 4 year scholarship and expects to help Millsaps continue in its winning ways on the gridiron.

STA Principal José Becerra recognizes senior John Thomas Rohner for his composite score of 30 on the ACT College Placement Test. The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT. J.T. is the son of John and Christy Rohner of Amite.

Campus Ministry once again hosted a Seder Meal, this year for the senior and sophomore classes. The Seder Meal is in remembrance of the Passover, when the Israelites were in captivity in Egypt. Jesus and the apostles were celebrating the Passover at what we now know as the Last Supper.

Congratulations to freshman Nicholas Hudspeth for his recent accomplishments in a 4-H Regional Shooting competition. He placed second in the silhouette pistol competition, third in Camp Perry Round pistol competition, third in slow fire pistol competition, and 3rd in overall shooting. These accomplishments have qualified Nicholas for the state competition. Good luck!

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, announced Tuesday that St. Thomas Aquinas High School senior Joshua Husser of Husser, La., has earned an appointment to the Air Force Academy. Husser will head to Colorado Springs in June. He plans to study Mechanical Engineering.

For years, STA Math teacher Mrs. Virginia Campo has been celebrating "Pi Day" on March 14th in honor of the mathematical figure "Pi". This year is being hailed as the once-in-a-lifetime "Ultimate Pi Day" as it is 3.14.15, especially at 9:26:53 a.m.

The STA Home & School Association has selected Mr. C.R. "Robby" Miller, Jr. as the 2015 recipient of the "Mother Seton Award." This award was created to honor those individuals whose volunteer service and dedication to home, school, and church has been exemplary. Mother Seton recipients have strong Catholic values, and a selfless dedication to Catholic education.

Seniors Miranda Howes and Adam DiBenedetto were chosen by the senior class as recipients of STA's Brotherhood / Sisterhood Awards. The faculty and staff chose to honor faculty member Mrs. Connie Irby and Business Manager Pam Smith.

HAMMOND, LA -- The Starlettes Dance Team from Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School recently returned from Orlando, FL where they competed in the Universal Dance Association’s National Dance Team Championship. The Starlettes competed against more than 120 small varsity teams from across the country who qualified to compete at the NDTC. They advanced to finals in their Hip Hop division and also advanced to Small Varsity Jazz semi-finals, finishing the weekend with a tenth-place national trophy in the Small Varsity Hip Hop category.
