St. Thomas Aquinas announces its first “My School Color Run,” scheduled for Saturday, October 17th, with late registration beginning at 8am and the race beginning at 9am. The run is a traditional 5K throughout the STA campus, although walkers, joggers, and strollers are also welcomed. After the race, everyone is encouraged to stick around for free jambalaya, fruit, water, Powerade, music, and raffles/giveaways.
The STA Student Council is pleased to announce its 2015 Homecoming Court.
The STA Student Council thanks the Fraternal Order of Police for their donation of Thin Blue Line Wristbands in support of law enforcement officers. The Student Council will be selling the wristbands as part of their October Homecoming Week festivities.
The STA student body joined students across the nation this morning at the flagpole for the annual "See You at the Pole" gathering. 2015 is the 25th anniversary of the movement which is celebrated during the Global Week of Student Prayer.
Several STA students were recognized after a recent Mass for their commitment to service to our community. These students went above and beyond the required number of service hours per student.
STA Principal Jose Becerra congratulates senior Butch Bartels on his recent status as Commended Student of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
STA Principal José Becerra recognizes senior Shannon Garrety for her composite score of 30 on the ACT College Placement Test. The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT. Shannon is the daughter of Bryon and Betsy Garrety.
Senior Johann Castro is interested in a career in the communications / mass media fields, so when he was given the opportunity to experience the industry from the inside this summer, he used it to explore his chosen career path.
While most students are enjoying their summer vacation, the season is well under way for STA's Cheer and Dance teams. Since tryouts in March, the teams have been preparing for their first big events: Summer Camp with the Universal Cheerleading Association and the Universal Dance Association.
Congratulations to Dawson Gildig '18 for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts.
