Tuesday, February 5, 2013 / Categories: Press Releases Sara Gambel chosen as Student of the Year Congratulations to STA senior Sara Gambel who has been selected as the 2012-2013 Student of the Year. Sara is a member of the Cross Country, Track, and Soccer teams. She also is a member of Student Council and Key Club and serves as secretary for both. Her other school extracurricular activities include STA Ambassadors, National Honor Society, and Drama Club. Sara’s awards and recognitions include McDonalds A+ Athlete, All-Academic State Composite Team, House of Blues Regional Art Contest winner, ACT 30+ Club, and Principal’s List and President’s Award all four years, just to name a few. Outside of school, Sara co-founded Tangi Cause for Paws with her sister. The organization promotes pet adoptions and collects supplies for the Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control Center. Sara has also participated in the Nicaragua International Outreach Program were she assisted physicians in Nicaragua to set up medical clinics and examine patients.
