SCOTT HENDERSON SELECTED AS 2017 DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE

Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School and the Falcon Alumni Association are pleased to announce the selection of Scott Henderson as the school’s 2017 Distinguished Graduate. Scott is a 2005 graduate of STA.

Raised around his family’s business, Berrytown Produce, Henderson’s entrepreneurial spirit quickly emerged as he opened Buddies Bar and Grill and serves as the President / Co-founder of The Salad Station and The Salad Station Franchising Company.

“Scott’s dedication to the Mission of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School after his graduation has been evident in his personal success, but most importantly in his community outreach,” said Alumni Director Joshua Wittie.

Knowing the importance of service to the community, Henderson and his sister, Amy Henderson Shaw, created “#LettuceHelp” to encourage community outreach by his employees. Through the organization, Salad Station employees participate in fundraisers for other organizations, such as school supply drives, school fundraisers, food banks, fun runs, and other volunteer opportunities.

“STA instilled in me the power of incorporating faith into my daily life, the importance of caring for people, and dedication to reaching my personal goals,” said Henderson. “I am truly blessed.”

Henderson serves on the board of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce, and has also been the Treasurer. He is a past board member of the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation. He is a recipient of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce President’s Award and was named to the Daily Star’s Future 40 of Tangipahoa. He will be honored at a Diocesan ceremony in Baton Rouge during Catholic School’s Week on January 30.
